The Solling boarding school is one of around 210 UNESCO associated schools in Germany.
These schools actively implement the goals of UNESCO in the classroom and through extracurricular projects. The aim is to strengthen the political awareness of the students, to take up the initiatives of UNESCO and to translate them into practical action .
Since their foundation in 1953, UNESCO Associated Schools have pursued the following guiding principles:
With this commitment, the UNESCO states wanted to express the hope that world peace can be secured through education. In addition to political agreements, the focus is therefore on mutual understanding, respect and cultural tolerance .
At Internat Solling, we implement these principles in school and extracurricular projects . Topics such as human rights, environmental protection, sustainability and tolerance are actively dealt with and implemented in practical projects .
