Learning culture at Internat Solling
The special spirit of Internat Solling is not only evident in the classroom, but in our entire learning culture.
As part of the “New Learning Culture”, we combine qualified teaching with a wide range of projects and unusual subjects. Our goal: Pupils should learn to learn independently, responsibly and with joy .
Structure, strategy and self-responsibility
A central element is the daily working hour under the supervision of experienced teachers. It provides structure and promotes independent work.
In addition, we offer project-oriented competence, inclination and seminar subjects that combine key qualifications and practical relevance – for example:
- “Youth Debates” – Arguing, Discussing, Convincing
- “Texts and texting” – feeling for language, creativity, expression
- “Fashion Design” – Design, Aesthetics, Craftsmanship
- “Junior Engineer Academy” of the Telekom Foundation – research and discovery at university level
Open forms of teaching such as our learning workshops in lower and middle school also promote the initiative and self-organization of our students.
Personal support and learning support
The closeness and responsiveness of our teachers enables individual support that responds to the personality, interests and performance level of each child.
We recognize strengths, promote curiosity and motivate motivation to perform.
We understand learning as an active, tangible process : students recognize problems, formulate their own questions and develop individual solutions. This creates a deep understanding – not only of the result, but also of the way to get there.
Creativity, thinking and perseverance
We encourage analytical and creative thinking in equal measure.
Our students learn to take on unusual perspectives, to seek new paths and to show perseverance – skills that accompany them far beyond their school days.
Since self-discovery and project-oriented learning takes time and space, our modern learning centre with library is available to them all day long – a place of concentration, inspiration and joint work.
