Living in a boarding school does not only mean learning – it also means making your free time active and meaningful. The charm of the Solling boarding school lies in the special combination of community, leisure time and personal development.
After learning or on weekends, our students meet to have fun together, discover new interests or simply relax.
Never ridden or played rugby? Both are possible at Internat Solling . If you’ve always wanted to play in a band, you’ll find the right rehearsal room here – and if you prefer to play with the ball, you can let off steam in numerous ball sports . In addition to sports fields and halls, there is also its own cinema, a cozy tea room and even a disco.
Whether sports, art, music, technology, crafts or social commitment – the afternoon and weekend programme offers the right thing for everyone. Our diverse offers invite you to try out new things, discover talents and deepen friendships.
In the afternoons and evenings, the working groups (AGs) take place, while lessons are still possible until 4:00 p.m. Upper school students also take on a social service and actively contribute to the community.
For students in grades 5 to 7, the supervised learning workshop will take place from 2:10 to 3:35 p.m. During this time, they do their homework and deepen their learning material in a quiet atmosphere.
The older grades are in their rooms from 5:20 p.m. on the working hour , which is accompanied by the respective Kam leaders .
After dinner together at 7:00 p.m. , there will be time for free time and joint activities. Our home rules ensure a balanced daily rhythm – with enough freedom, clear responsibility and phases of relaxation.
On weekends, the grounds of the Solling boarding school become a meeting place for excursions, cultural and leisure activities. In addition to the wide range of offers on our spacious campus, we would also like our students to get to know Holzminden and the region of southern Lower Saxony .
In the four areas of sports, art & culture, science and social services, the young people experience a conscious and enriching leisure activity. Our international students in particular appreciate the opportunity to get to know Germany and its culture.
All leisure activities at Internat Solling promote a sense of community, the ability to work in a team, self-confidence and personal strengths. Our goal is for every student to make the best of their own talents – whether in sports, music, social commitment or simply experiencing things together.
And if you just want to switch off after an intensive week at school, you can of course do so: For us, leisure time means freedom – to do, discover or relax.
