Accommodation

Living in a boarding school means much more than just sharing a room – it means becoming part of a vibrant community. The heart of our boarding school life is formed by small residential groups, the so-called comradeships – “Kam” for short. Each comradeship consists of 8 to 12 students:

  • Shooters (Grades 5–7)
  • Scholars (Grades 8–10)
  • Magister (Years 11–13)

As a rule, two young people share a room; in the upper school (grade 13), some already live in a single room. Our high school graduates generally live in a single room, as far as capacities allow.

Individuality & Living Together

In these manageable groups, a strong sense of community develops. The young people learn to reconcile individuality and living together : they make friends, take responsibility, learn to find compromises and set boundaries. This coexistence of closeness, mutual respect as well as rights and duties is an essential part of social learning at Internat Solling – and makes our community so special.

Individual support and joint learning

The proximity between students and teachers enables particularly individual support at Internat Solling. Each child is perceived in his or her personality and accompanied according to his or her strengths and needs. We promote curiosity, independence and motivation – because for us, learning does not only mean achieving results, but also appreciating the path of recognition and understanding .

In this way, living at the Solling boarding school becomes a central part of personal and social development – in an environment that promotes security, community and growth in equal measure.
