Scholarship Foundation

We would also like to open our school to gifted young people whose families cannot afford the costs of a boarding school stay. From the very beginning, it was the goal of the Solling boarding school that all children – regardless of their financial situation – could benefit from our holistic educational concept.

At the same time, these scholarship holders enrich our community: through their special commitment, motivation, commitment and extraordinary social skills.

Our Scholarship Foundation

In order to enable and further expand these merit-based scholarships, the Internat Solling Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2007. It was created from donations from former students as well as from the previous scholarship fund – and continues to grow steadily.

Our long-term goal: at least 20 scholarship holders should receive a merit-based scholarship every year.
To this end, we want to build up a capital stock of six million euros over the next ten years – an ambitious but achievable goal that can only be achieved together.

Every donation counts: Regular small donations are also of great importance, because they flow directly and immediately into the awarding of scholarships.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all supporters – for every small and large donation, for the tireless efforts of many helpers and especially our chairman of the scholarship foundation, Dr. Matthias Redlefsen. Without this commitment, our scholarship work would not be possible.

All information on how to apply can be found on the website of the scholarship foundation.

We are proud to be able to award scholarships every year – and thank all donors who make this possible.
Because this funding is a special award, we would like to introduce the young people who have impressed with their outstanding achievements.

"Since I received the Solling Scholarship, my school life has changed fundamentally for the better. It was only through this experience that I became aware of how outstanding a school can really be. It offers not only world-class programs, but also modern facilities and dedicated teachers who inspire every day. Both academically and personally, I have gained immensely enriching experiences so far. My grades have improved significantly, and I'm more motivated than ever to set myself high goals. Now I feel a strong desire to achieve more and give something meaningful back to the community."

"For me, living and learning at Internat Solling means growing every day in an inspiring community; both academically and personally. I really appreciate the special atmosphere in which people support each other, motivate each other and discover new sides of themselves. Learning is not only seen as a duty, but also as an opportunity to develop and surpass oneself. I'm very grateful to be in a place where you really feel comfortable and find a little bit more of yourself every day."

Julian Funk

Scholarship holder since school year 2024/2025

"When I was accepted for the scholarship, I was very happy. The anticipation of what was to come was great, and I tried to imagine what life at a boarding school might be like. Now I'm happy about the decision to go to school here. The small classes create a pleasant learning atmosphere and give each individual the opportunity to fully develop and get the best out of themselves. There are also so many exciting support and leisure activities outside of the classroom that I often find it difficult to choose. It excites me that I can not only continue to do sports, but also try new things – especially in the natural sciences, where I like to experiment. I am incredibly grateful to be able to be a part of this community here at LSH."

Eva Fichtner

Scholarship holder since school year 2024/2025

"Just a year ago, I would never have thought that I would be learning and living at this boarding school today. At Internat Solling, education is being redefined – it is understood holistically and goes far beyond the classroom. I am infinitely grateful to be part of this community, to be able to integrate and benefit from it. Boarding school life offers me ideal conditions to develop in the best possible way, to be encouraged and challenged and to grow beyond myself. I am very much looking forward to the coming years and the opportunities that lie ahead of me."

Lotta Gellweiler

Scholarship holder since school year 2025/2026

"For me, this scholarship means one thing above all: living and learning in a unique place that offers countless opportunities for both personal and academic development. I am extremely grateful for this special opportunity and am very much looking forward to the upcoming school years. Being a part of this community for the next two years means a lot to me, because mutual learning and exchange in all areas are an essential part of preparing for the Abitur for me and a valuable basis for my future path in life."

Ida Korzonek

Scholarship holder since school year 2024/2025

"A long-cherished wish has come true: learning and living in a great community in a wonderful place that offers countless opportunities to discover and develop one's own talents. For me, the LSH is not only a school, but also a second home – a place where I am encouraged and challenged at the same time. This is a dream come true, and I am extremely grateful for the great opportunity that the scholarship has given me. As part of the LSH community, I would like to use the time here intensively for my education and at the same time grow personally to contribute to both an enriching member of society and a positive part of boarding school life."

Carlotta Poßner

Scholarship holder since school year 2024/2025

"The scholarship at Internat Solling enables me to develop both academically and personally in an inspiring environment and to take on new challenges. I am grateful for the diverse support and opportunities that this opens up for me, especially through the intensive exchange with classmates and teachers. The small class size promotes this valuable exchange and allows individual support. I also have the opportunity to deepen my interests and discover new areas. Since day one, I have felt very welcome and have been warmly welcomed into the boarding school community. For me, it's the perfect combination of small classes, individual development, community and my sporting passion, rugby. This experience will have a lasting impact on my life and help me achieve my goals."

Emil Reister

Scholarship holder since school year 2025/2026

"I am very grateful that I can attend the Solling boarding school. Here I find exactly what I need as an ADHD sufferer: clear structures, small learning groups and teachers who really take their time. Due to the many sports opportunities, I can use my energy well and notice that this helps me to better control my ADHD. This opportunity means an incredible amount to me and also to my family."

Imke Rös

Scholarship holder since school year 2025/2026

"For me, the opportunity to attend the Solling boarding school means not only the experience of a diverse and active school community with close and, above all, personal teacher-student exchange, but also the entry into a new, colorful world that offers me opportunities that I cannot get in other places. The small learning groups and the resulting individual and interactive lesson design provide us learners with an optimal learning experience. Even beyond the boundaries of the lessons, there is a familiar and warm atmosphere in which you can live together with others and grow beyond your limits, and the extracurricular offer at LSH enables me to pursue my numerous interests to a special degree. I am very grateful to be able to be part of the big picture, because the very desire to attend a boarding school one day seemed unattainable to me last year."

Maxine Scheil

Scholarship holder since school year 2024/2025

"With the news that I have received the scholarship for the Solling boarding school, a long-cherished dream has come true for me. It still feels surreal to have been given such an extraordinary opportunity – the opportunity to discover new things, deepen what they have already learned and gain valuable experience in the coming years. Although I have not been at the school for long, I have already been warmly welcomed into the community and feel that I have arrived in this new place of living and learning. I am infinitely grateful for this opportunity and want to make the best possible use of it and give something back to society."

"For me, living and learning at Internat Solling means being able to combine my school and my hobbies in a beautiful place. I am now a member of a great community, can try out completely new things and receive support in a variety of areas. This is a great opportunity, for which I am very grateful to the Solling boarding school and the Neumayer Foundation."

Helene Weiß

Scholarship holder since school year 2025/2026

"The idea of continuing my school career in the upper school at a boarding school came about through many conversations with my parents and the realization that I would not find the conditions at my school at the time that would allow me to develop in the best possible way within the framework of my potential.
After attending an information day at LSH, I became convinced that this was the right place for me. It was both conversations with Ms. Oswald and boarding students and their enthusiasm for the community as well as the atmosphere as a whole that impressed me.
Since the summer of 2025, I have been attending the 11th grade of the boarding school as a performance scholarship holder. I find every day a great enrichment, both in terms of school content and in living together and exchanging ideas with classmates and teachers. For me, the scholarship is both recognition and an incentive to maintain and expand my previous achievements. It is a pleasure for me to be able to enrich this special community with my commitment."

Filipa Wellenbrock

Scholarship holder since school year 2023/2024

"Just a few months ago, attending boarding school was unimaginable for me. The fact that I am given this opportunity to learn and live here makes me incredibly grateful. Life in the boarding school offers you completely different perspectives and experiences in terms of school, everyday life and community. At LSH, you learn that school is much more than just homework and exams. You look at the world from a completely new perspective and gain experience and knowledge that you really need in life."

Sara Zerioh

Scholarship holder since school year 2025/2026

"Education is the key to helping society have a promising future. Through the scholarship foundation of the Solling boarding school, I have the opportunity to receive an outstanding school education. What is important to me is not only academic success, but also that I develop personally by not only learning together in the school community, but also living together. I am grateful for this unique opportunity to be able to take up my scholarship at Internat Solling and would like to thank everyone involved."

Practical questions

A donation can be made into the foundation’s capital stock (currently €1.3 million) as a guarantee for the sustainability of the scholarship foundation or for prompt consumption.

Large donations and bequests – so-called endowments – primarily serve to increase the capital stock in order to be able to award further scholarships from the proceeds. In both cases, your donation is tax deductible.

From a donation of 300 €, you will receive a donation receipt at the beginning of the following year or, in the case of permanent donations, a collective donation receipt. For donations under €300, you can simply submit your bank statement to the tax office.

Unfortunately, we often lack sufficient data. Please make sure that we know your full name and current address in order to be able to correctly assign your donation and send you a donation receipt. Thank you!
