Sporting excursions are an integral part of the annual rhythm at the Solling boarding school . Whether cycling in Provence, sailing on the IJsselmeer, rafting on the Soča, canoeing in Masuria, surfing on the North Sea or hiking and skiing in the Alps – our students experience exercise, community and nature in a very special way.
Even though the Solling boarding school is not a pure sports boarding school , sporty trips play a central role in our pedagogical concept. They are an integral part of the extracurricular programme, the annual study and comradeship trips, the working groups (AGs) and the weekend programme.
The sports student council regularly organises excursions that combine theory and practice. A fixed date is the one-week ski and snowboard trip to Austria, during which the 8th grade leaves everyday school life behind and gains new sporting experiences.
These trips not only have sporting value – they also promote social skills, cultural understanding and independence. Our students get to know new sports in their natural environment and also experience the culture and landscape of other countries.
Especially for our international students , these trips are a valuable opportunity to get to know Germany and its European neighbors better.
For the upper school students with the examination subject Sport , there are regular excursions to renowned sports universities in Cologne, Göttingen, Hanover or Münster. There they gain practical insights into sports science research and training – an ideal preparation for possible study and career paths in the field of sports.
Excursions at Internat Solling combine sporting challenges, cultural education and personal development – in the spirit of our holistic approach: learn, experience, grow.
