Horse riding at the Solling boarding school

Internat Solling is the only boarding school in Germany with a professional riding facility on its own grounds. Here, young people of all age groups who are enthusiastic about riding can combine school and equestrian sport in the best possible way – without a long journey or organisational stress.

Even though the Solling boarding school is not a pure riding boarding school, those interested in equestrian sports will find first-class conditions here: Our qualified riding instructors (horse keepers FN) offer daily riding lessons in small groups for beginners and advanced riders. A modern stable facility, spacious pastures, a dressage arena, a bright indoor riding arena (20 x 40 m) as well as lunging area and jumping facilities are available. Directly adjacent to it, the Solling offers ideal riding opportunities in nature.

The boarding school’s own riding stable with around 50 hectares of park-like grounds is located in the immediate vicinity of residential and teaching buildings. As a member of the Hanover Equestrian Sports Association, we guarantee professional care for horse and rider. Our specialist staff organises regular vet and blacksmith appointments, the semi-annual horse scales and the maintenance of the stables.

The school’s own horses are available for riding lessons, and our students’ own horses are also welcome and can be accommodated in spacious boxes. At Internat Solling, the love of riding can be ideally combined with everyday school life.

With or without your own horse

Teenagers with their own pony or horse develop individual training plans together with our riding instructors and receive regular individual lessons. The horses are further trained in riding, and courses to deepen their knowledge are of course part of it. Horses can also stay in the boarding school during the holidays and are professionally cared for.

If you don’t have your own horse, but still want to get into equestrian sports, you can take responsibility for a care horse – cleaning, saddling, leading and grooming are just as much a part of everyday life as the lessons themselves.

Program of the Equestrian Department

Our riding program offers daily riding lessons – both departmental and individual lessons – for all students with their own or school’s own horse. The division is based on the timetable and riding skills. Reliability, a sense of responsibility and animal welfare are always the focus.

  • Departmental teaching
  • One-to-One Lessons
  • Courses on various topics
  • Dressage and jumping courses
  • Riding and targeted training of the guest horses
  • Riding lessons for beginners
  • Assumption of responsibility for foster horses

With its professional facilities, dedicated trainers and the close connection between school and equestrian sport, Internat Solling offers young riders ideal conditions to live and develop their passion for riding – in an environment that promotes performance, responsibility and joy in dealing with horses.
