Theatre at Internat Solling

Theatre has a long and lively tradition at Internat Solling. Since the beginnings of our school, theatre has been part of everyday life – whether as a leisure activity, a means of artistic expression or a festive highlight in school life.

Every major event at the boarding school – from the anniversary to the alumni reunion – is accompanied by theatre performances, music and joint celebrations. And it’s not just classical plays that are on the programme: more and more often, pupils and teachers are developing their own productions that take up current topics, personal experiences or creative ideas.

An unforgettable example is the musical “Der gute Geist vom Landschulheim”, which was created for the school’s 100th anniversary – an impressive community project in which the entire school community was involved.

But smaller productions that are created spontaneously or improvised also have their permanent place. They offer young people the opportunity to try things out, to explore language, expression and emotions – in roles that are either close to them or deliberately alien.

More and more often, students and teachers are developing their own productions that take up current topics, personal experiences or creative ideas.

Play, grow, understand

Theatre is much more than a performance – it is a pedagogical space of experience. In the game, social and personal topics are processed, conflicts are resolved and new perspectives are discovered. Theatre promotes confidence in one’s own expressiveness and creates an emotional balance to everyday school life.

At Internat Solling, theatre is not only art, but also a form of learning and living – creative, communal and deeply human.
