Languages at Internat Solling
Learning languages, gaining international experience and meeting peers from other cultures is both a tradition and a firm practice at Internat Solling.
Our offer promotes cosmopolitanism, intercultural competence and tolerance.
Foreign Language Courses
We offer a diverse program:
• English, French, Spanish and Chinese
• Contacts with partner schools abroad in Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, Egypt, Germany and Brazil
Course of lessons:
• Grade 5: Start with English
• Grade 6: Compulsory choice between Spanish, Latin or French as a second foreign language
• Introductory phase upper school: Spanish can be chosen for the first time or taken as a substitute for the second foreign language and must be continued until the Abitur.
Exam options
• All languages can be chosen as exam courses at the basic level (P4-P5).
• At an advanced level (P1-P3) we offer English as well as French and Spanish depending on your interests.
German as a Foreign Language (DaF)
Since many internate students do not have German as their mother tongue, there is a separate small language school where everyone is supported individually.
• Each student works according to an ongoing, individual support plan.
• The aim is systematic language progress under the close supervision of qualified GFL teachers.
• The groups are deliberately small in order to specifically address heterogeneity in mother tongue, language level, age group and educational background.
In this way, we enable every student to exploit his or her potential and move confidently in the German-speaking world – an important building block for academic success and personal integration.
